  I have been with Dr. MacLean for about 6 years now. I signed a contract in which after 2 years I will pay a monthly fee as long as the braces are there. And that's exactly what I did, for every month for 2 years after the contract (which I already paid a lot for) no matter weather it was replacing wires, tightening the braces, or just a simple checkup, I paid a certain amount of money. Its been two years now since the end of the 4 years, and all the payments, I went to the office a couple days ago, just to simply check my bottom retainer, which only took 2 minutes and the receptionist said that I had to pay $60 for this. I was infuriated since I thought I was done paying all that I needed to. The receptionist then said that this fee was in the contract that we signed, which I clearly remembered wasn't in the contract, when we asked to see the contract, the receptionist became very rude and said that she didn't have it probably since she lost it or threw it out. When I made that appointment over the phone, they did not mention it to me over the phone that I had to pay a fee and I was surprised that I had to pay when I was on my way out. The receptionist did not make it easy at all or conveyed to me the message clearly, they were flat-out rude and obnoxious, they actually started yelling and raising their tone of voice, when clearly I should've been the one to do that. They absolutely had no respect at all. I asked then when I go back to take out my retainer (which the doctor said I have to keep on for another year) if I'll pay a fee? The receptionist abruptly answered that yes I will have to pay, unless I want to take it out at that very moment. This shows that the receptionists don't care at all about the patient's well-being. Even though I have to keep the retainer on for another year, they carelessly suggested to take it out right now, and that is very inconsiderate. Dr. Matt is very professional and he knows how to do his job right. The receptionists on the other hand are completely careless, insulting, and a bit aggressive. And that just completely ruins the image of the whole office. I was having a great experience with Dr. Matt for 6 years now even though I payed double than was expected, but what happened that day and the way I was treated completely ruins it all. I am very disappointed that someone like Dr. Matt would hire such discourteous people to be his receptionists.
